Lettuce

Positive effects on eyes bones and teeth. Reduced risk of tumors.

Lettuce Description.

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) is a leafy vegetable belonging to the Asteraceae family. It forms heads of leaves that, depending on the variety, can be more or less compact, with a crispy or tender texture, smooth or serrated edges, and colors ranging from deep green to pale yellowish hues.

Composed of 95% water, rich in fiber, minerals (potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and sulfur), and vitamins (A, C, D, E, K), lettuce has strong rehydrating properties and is highly recommended for digestive health. Additionally, its lactucarium content has a mild sedative effect. Lettuce is typically eaten raw as the main ingredient in salads and side dishes, but it is also enjoyed cooked in soups,
pasta dishes, and even as an herbal infusion.

Vivai Bacchetto cultivates the main lettuce varieties (Butterhead, Oak Leaf, Gentilina, Iceberg, Lollo, and Romaine) for nine months a year, ensuring adaptability to various climatic conditions from Southern Italy to Northern Europe. The most recommended trays range from 104 cells up to 280 cells.
In some cases, lettuce seedlings grown in polystyrene trays have replaced the traditional soil block cultivation technique.

Our company has been a client of Vivai Bacchetto for many years, and this collaboration has continued over time because the service has always been highly efficient, punctual, and of excellent quality. For us horticulturists and agronomists, who are highly dependent on variables such as climatic conditions and market demands, it is very important to be able to count on a partner who can adequately satisfy even “last minute” needs. Vivai Bacchetto’s professionalism is simply impeccable.
