Description Table Tomato
The table tomato (Solanum lycopersicum esculentum) is a fruit-bearing vegetable that belongs to the Solanaceae family. It is a hardy, annual plant due to varying environmental climatic conditions. The plant has a thick, cylindrical stem with green bark and multiple nodes. The fruit it produces is a fleshy berry, intensely red in color, with a vibrant, sweet flavor. The fruit grows on the plant in clusters or individually.
Rich in phosphorus, potassium, vitamin C, K, folates, and antioxidants, the table tomato positively contributes to cellular repair processes, slows down cellular aging, protects against cancer, and is beneficial for the eyes, bones, and muscular system.
At Vivai Bacchetto, table tomato plants are provided with various characteristics, depending on customer requests and intended use: grafted (above or below the cotyledons), sometimes topped at 2 heads on the axillary cotyledon tips, and sometimes at the first two true leaves.
Except for those tutored in rock wool cubes or in pots, the plants are always delivered before the flower buds open.
