Description of Melon.
The melon (Cucumis melo) is a fruit-bearing vegetable from the Cucurbitaceae family. It is an annual climbing plant with fibrous roots, a branched stem with tendrils, and alternate, lobed, heart-shaped leaves at the base. The fruits are large, oval or round, characterized by smooth or wrinkled skin with “slice-like” divisions. Melons are antioxidant, anticancer, and dietary, and their mineral and vitamin content is
beneficial for vision, digestion, circulation, and the nervous system.
The wide variety of melon types requires in-depth knowledge and different cultivation methods.
Vivai Bacchetto produces melon seedlings in various formats (in pots, containers with 24, 40, 60, 104 holes), and for early deliveries, it applies the pruning technique (at 2 or 3 true leaves), allowing for earlier production.
Melon is increasingly appreciated as a grafted plant: today, Vivai Bacchetto produces over 700,000 grafted melon seedlings, and demand is growing significantly.
