Strawberry Description.

The strawberry plant (Fragaria vesca) belongs to the Rosaceae family and is a perennial.
With small dimensions, it reaches a maximum height of 20 cm and has thin, small stems and basal leaf clusters. The leaves are oval and bright green. In spring, it produces small white flowers with rounded petals, and between spring and summer, the highly fragrant red “false” fruits shaped like droplets.

Beloved by both adults and children for their delightful flavor, strawberries are used in cooking for desserts, juices, smoothies, as well as in risottos, rich salads, and sophisticated main dishes.

Strawberries are also powerful allies for beauty and health: they combat water retention, contain various antioxidant flavonoids that fight aging, activate metabolism, and prevent diabetes. The large amount of vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, along with other beneficial substances, has made strawberries one of the top anti-aging superfoods.

Strawberries are primarily a summer-autumn crop.

Vivai Bacchetto produces them starting from a rooted crown (using fresh runners) in July-August. In the case of transplanting into rigid plastic containers, harvesting, packaging, and vernalization in the fridge occur between the end of November and early December.
